Right now I’m in the middle of running the Created in Birmingham shop in the Bullring which is quite insane, truth me told, leaving me feeling a little like the poor creature at the end of the day.
My 5″ framed prints are on sale there, so come and buy them please – but mostly I’m getting the systems sorted for taking, selling and paying for stock. Seven years after I left Waterstone’s I wasn’t expecting a return to retail in this form but it’s proving to be fun, challenging and rather enjoyable so far, mainly because we can do whatever the hell we want with no dumb-asses Head Office to say otherwise. Yay!
It does mean my TTV photography is taking a tiny bit of a back seat for a week while I get into this new groove so I’ll be posting up a few oldies in the meanwhile.
The above ties nicely in with the previous post about Curzon Street Station (and thanks for all the comments on that). This is a petrified cat corpse that was found during some building works on the site. I vaguely remember some story about it being the station cat but can’t be sure. It’s exhibited in the foyer in a glass case. Not that can go see it now the building is boarded up.
Here’s a more representative photo of the cat by Booger Benson:
Thanks for running the shop and feeling like a dead cat on our behalf.
My new printer has is sitting in a very large box by the telly, prints are ready to print and Im looking forward to bringing down my stock and checking out the shop next weekend!
